Cobh - Handy Information.

Cobh's main street is at sea level and is called East/West Beach and contains most of Cobh's business premises, further up the hill is St. Colmans Cathedral. Just behind The Cathedral is Top of The Hill where you will find many more Cobh Businesses.

Telephones
Public coin and card telephones are available outside the Post Office in the town centre and most pubs and supermarkets also have payphones.
Telephone cards can be purchased in local shops and the post office.

Post Office
Pearse Square, Town Centre, providing postal information and stamps, Western Union money transfer, Eurogiro, money transfers, bureau de Change, Passsport express and Telephone Calling cards.
Open 9.00-5.30 pm Mon-Sat, closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Banks
AIB, West Beach, ATM facilities available 24hrs a day
Bank of Ireland - Westbourne Place, Town Centre
PermanentTSB Bank, West Beach, Town Centre. ATM facilities available 24hrs a day
Banks are closed Saturday and Sunday.
ATM's are available in most Supermarkets.
Bureau de Change available from Banks in normal banking hours only, also available in some shops and hotels.

Shopping
Shopping hours - Normally 9 am to 6 pm.
Some shops open on Sundays and late evenings.


Bars and Pubs
Most pubs are tradional irish pubs, some are disco bars.
For Traditional Music nites, you will need to go to Top of the Hill or Ballymore,
Normal opening hours are:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 10am - 11.30pm
Thursday, Friday, Saturday - 10am - 12.30am the following morning


Dining Out
Cobh has many restaurants which vary in style from Seafood to Italian through Chinese and Indian, all of the restaurants offer extensive menus and most are open 7 days a week. Most restaurants don't require booking however during the busy summer months it would be advisable.
