The main type of fishing is at anchor, sometimes drifting and occasionally trolling.

The main species are as follows:
Conger, Ling, Pollack, Cod, Whiting, Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo Wrasse, Rockling, Blond Ray, Thorn Back Ray -, Plaice and the occasional Turbot.
Shark fishing late summer, July / August.

Bait - Crab, Sand Eels. Squid, Mackerel, Lug Worm and Rag Worm.

Fishing is from May to October.

If you cannot get out to deep-sea fishing you can have very good fishing in the shelter of Cork Harbour with most of the species of fish mentioned above available.
